Creative writing with Miss Birtch

One Sunny Summer Day I saw some huge green mountains. There were also some green trees the same color as the green mountains I saw before when I went for a walk. I saw a very clear deep blue sea it was so beautiful. it was so clear you could see the seaweed I also saw some shiny boats near the very deep blue sea. 

So I kept looking and I saw a girl her name was Lily. She was the same age as me she had brown hair and Brown eyes she said she loved Netball and Hockey. Then we went for a walk near the beach she said she loved dolphins I said let's see if we see any dolphins. I said let's go for a walk near the shallow end.

Then we went into the boat and saw Lily's dad he was in the kitchen making dinner. We wanted to explore but then Lily's dad said that there was a hole in the roof and he said just to make sure I can't let you guys in there. So we went outside and saw the beautiful sunset going down we sat on the chairs that Lily's dad put outside and just looked at the amazing sunset going down until it started getting dark. Lily's dad invited me for Dinner I said I could stay for a little bit longer than I will go back home.  



Then We had dinner Lily's dad made lasagne we ate dinner and I stayed for a little bit more. Then 15 minutes later I said I think I better go home now. So I said goodbye and thanks for dinner and I said to Lily I hope I see you again someday. And so I started walking home and I said I will come again tomorrow to see Lily.

Food Tech

Hi, bloggers for the past few weeks 7/Tz started doing Food Tech with Miss Hindson. Last week On Wednesday and Thursday we made pizza with 2 different bases. We are to tell you guys about the differences. On both of the pizzas, we used the same ingredients but different bases. We have Food Tech every Wednesday and Thursday Period 5  On Thursday we made each made a piece of pizza on Thursday we made a whole pizza for our team. In our team, I had Risha, Nevaeh, Shreya and I. I had to be in the vegetarian group even though I'm not a vegetarian. I didn't get to eat meat but I didn't want it. 




Wednesday's Pizza 
Toppings - Onion, Tomatoes.Pineapple, Capsicum, Sauce, and Cheese.

Pizza base- We each had a slice. I don't know the name of the base.






Herbs- Oregano 

Seasoning - Rock Salt, Pepper


Conclusion- 
I think that the pizza made was really good and everybody in my team liked it. I think we should be faster doing the dishes and drying.



Thursday's Pizza
Toppings were the same as the other pizza that we made but I will still write it in.

Toppings- Onion, Capsicum, Pineapple, Tomatoes, Sauce and Cheese.

Pizza Base - I was a whole pizza for the team but we split it in quarters in the end. 





Herbs- Oregano

Seasoning- Rock Salt and Pepper.


Conclusion- 
I think Wednesday pizza was better because it was much softer and it didn't get burnt and it tasted way better.

Last time I did a blog post about Playing to Win chapter 1-4 now I will be talking to you about the other chapters.  This book is about Denny and how he had to move because of his Mum's job.  Also how he likes Alice but Todd the bully takes Alice away from Denny. Then Denny joins a rugby team but the bully Toddy keep's taking Alice away from Denny and then Denny goes to training Rosie and Lucy cheer on him and when Denny tackles Todd down on the ground. 

My favourite part from Chapter 4-7 was Denny started to be in a rugby team because that was what wanted and he will have fun at his new School.

I predict that Denny will get to be with Alice and Todd will be nice to Denny and they start to be Friends.

How successful was your lesson? My lesson was really cool because I liked teaching Benchball because it was really fun. 
What was your role? My role was helping how to play the game and being able to help. 
How did you contribute to your team? I contributed to my team by helping them. 
What was something you would do differently next time? Something I would do differently next time is adding some new roles to the game. 
Tell us two things you learned about your sport? I learned about my sport is nothing. 

Why I never learned anything else is because I already knew how to play.

School Trip to Orana Park

On Monday the 23d Tz and Bh went to Orana Park to learn about the animals there. We came on a bus and Mark also brought the Van. I went in the van with Mark and other students in the van. When we got there we got off the bus and van and then Elizabeth one of the Teachers at Orana Park told us about why we were here to learn about the Animals. Then we split into 2 groups I was in group 2 with Shalizeh and Loloma.

First, we went to see the Meerkat's the Meerkats were so cute. 

Then we saw the spider Monkeys but they weren't out so we saw the Reptiles and the geckos when we went in there some of the glass with the reptiles said Can you find  5 geckos. And then we went to the bird forest where the keas were

and the other birds.

Sphero Ball

Hi Bloggers. Welcome back to my blog for the past few weeks we have been playing With Spheros with Bh and controlling them with an Ipad. 


1. What is Scratch? Scratch is an app where you can add animals and humans to a blank doc and then you can add Backgrounds to it and make the animals move around.

2. what is Sphero? A Sphero is a ball that you can create and move around using an Ipad and make it change colors.

3. what do these tools/apps have in common? 
they are both programmes on devices.

4. which do you prefer and why?
I prefer Sphero because you can control it on an Ipad and its really fun to use.

5. How could you use one of these to address your Issue?
   I would use scratch because I can use a sea background and put sea animals to put on it. It gives me more choices.

Bench Ball

For the past few weeks in Hurumanu PE my team called French Fries showed all the other teams how to Play Bench Ball. First, we taught them our drills that were part of the game of Bench Ball. Our first drill was 20 high Knees, 40 star jumps and Sprints on the court up and down 10 times. We also played Sneak up granny about 5 -10 times why we chose to play Sneak up granny is because the game involves freezing and standing still. And then we got into playing bench ball the way we sorted all the teams out were Bh year 7's and Tz year 7's versed each other and Bh year 8's and Tz year 8's versed each other about 15 minutes later both the teams were finished there game. Then Miss Simpson said that we would verse The year 8's When she said that I was like they have more players than us and the year 8's were taller and better than us.  Miss Birtch also took some photos of us playing Bench ball and versing the year 8's.

Digital Tech

Last week in DigitalTech we had to do a worksheet about a Issue in life and explaining why we picked this Issue. The Issue That it is under is Environmental and what specifically is the Issue. 

The Issue was Pollution of NZ waterways I did this Issue because of the sea turtles are dying because of plastic straws and plastic items like water bottles. And we had to find three videos or a site why you chose that Issue and has to have information about sea turtles and how they stay alive and what they eat. We also had to search about global warming and what global warming does.

Some things I have learnt are:

This Term for CIP I have Joined a gardening Group and Its called Tane Mahuta. It is really fun to join and if you were at this school you would have loved the Tane Mahuta group. Currently, we are making an Outdoor classroom for the students when their teacher says they can visit it when we finish The teachers we are working with are Miss Alan Fletcher and Mr. Tisch

my favourite activity That we have done is the 12x12 Times table sheet.

One new strategy is new times tables.



What Has been a challenge in maths this term? 
A challenge for me is the questions in the red book that we have been working on.


What is a goal for multiplications that you want to achieve? 
I want to know my 6,7,8 and 12s by the end of the year.

Beep test for PE

Today we have Done a Beep Test for PE with Miss Simpson and Miss Birtch We do Warmups first to  First, the Boys went first for the BeepTest then the girls I realized the Beep test was really hard to do when I saw the Boys struggle I thought That was really hard there were 10 levels and 10 stages. When it was the girl's turn I was really nervous Then there was a bell and we started level 1. I Stoped at level 3 and stage 1 I was really proud of myself getting up to that level and stage.  I think I need to improve on is practice running In the weekend and just in my free time I was cheering on the other girls and boys When they were Struggling. I really Enjoy PE with Miss Simpson And Miss Birtch I Never want to do the BeepTest again But I will Have to do in Next year Too when I'm in year 8. Also In my team, I have Nathan, Hans, Tamani, Nevaeh, Nykachia, And Cody. Tasharn Was the last girl in the BeepTest And The last boy was Miguel He almost made all the levels.

	What I found difficult: I found difficult working with my group because we had different Ideas and we didn’t know what to do but we solved the problem. I use my chromebook safely on the Internet for Art.

Today at Maths Interchange we were working on our problem-solving in our group in my group I had Tyler, Jared, and Khaylanie. 

What was the Activity?
The Activity was that we were in groups and trying to problem solve the  Question.

What strategy did your group try?
Our group tried Takeaways, Division and Times tables. The divisions were hard to do but we tried it anyway. Also, there were three parts to do with the Question.


What did you find challenging?

I found challenging the Question that we had to do. Because they were hard to work out. 


How well did your group work together?

Our group worked really well because we were helping each other with the Question also working them out together.


Were you successful? 

We were successful with the Question but we didn't get them right. but we worked together.

Amazing Art

In Hurumanu we have been working with 7/8 Bh. We have been working on Manaakitanga we have been working in groups in my Group I have Shelby and Kya. We have been using whiteboards and a Chromebook for stop-motion. We are using stop motion and whiteboards for our story that we are making. We are also making characters our characters are Mike Matt's dad, Kyoya, Matt and Crystal. We have been drawing Anime for our drawings Kya Is the best Anime drawer in our group so we have been writing and telling her what our story is about. I really enjoy working with Miss Birtch, Whaea Rowena and Miss Kiens. Thank you for listening to my blog post.

Blog Post about C.I.P

Hi Bloggers! Today I am going to talk to you about C.I.P. In C.I.P we have singing, rugby academy and dancing. However, I chose to select singing. Singing is my favourite subject for C.I.P and I enjoy doing it with my friends. Singing keeps me calm, relaxed and feeling happy. I also enjoy singing in my own time at home, in shower but not with my hairbrush. My favourite song we sing at choir is "why does love do this to me?". It is very catchy and funky. It is by a New Zealand band called The Exponents. I think it would be cool if we got to perform for the Elderly people at a local rest home or at a competition. I look forward to November where we are competing in Kids for Kids singing competition. I hope we win!!

One Beautiful sunny day  my owners left to go to a BBQ. When they left I wanted to go on a adventure around the house and outside . 

In the House 

When I went looking around the house I jumped on a chair and grabbed the home phone and rang my friend  Lilly to come over. she said she was busy so she hang up. I went looking around the house again and I found a remote I said to myself what is this thing so I pushed a on and off button and the T.V turned on I watched a movie then I got bored and I said I will go outside.

Outside in the backyard 

 so I opened the door and I saw a trampoline I decided to go on it so I jumped so high that I landed on a branch of a tree and I got scared so I closed my eyes and jumped down and face planted. So I got so muddy that I wanted to wash the mud off so I found a hose and I turned on it and I was waiting for the water to come and I put it up on my face and the water was so cold that I turned the hose off and climbed up the stairs into the spa.

Mindfulness Colouring

This term  in CIP  we have been watching a video called Mindfulness colouring. When you watch the video it makes you want to try colouring in. You can get mindfulness colouring pages at the warehouse and the 2 dollar shops. This makes me calm and relaxed. 

We are going to make a colouring competition and be having age groups for these years. and Hornby Primary School, St Bernadette's School and Gilbethorpes.
