Water Filtration Plant

What is filtration?

Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass.

Examples are:

  1.  coffee
  2.  tea
  3.  kidney
  4. pool

Materials

1. water bottle
2. coffee filter
3. Elastic band
4. pop bottle top
5. dirty water
6. rocks
7. coarse sand
8. fine sand

Process - ( use verbs or doing words in each step )

Step 1

Cut the bottle in half so that you have a funnel and a container.

Step 2

Put the top half or the funnel upside down onto the other half or the container

STEP 3

Add layers of  filter paper, sand and rocks .

STEP 4
Add 1 cup of dirty water.

STEP 5

Pour dirty water into the bottle and wait for it to pass through the filter.

Reflection
What did I see happen?
The water going fast and not slow and it was still dirty

Did the experiment work well?
No. it spilt  on the table and failed

What would I do differently next time?
not to add that much rocks and sand and definitely not that much water
